Swine Flu Information
The Ministry of Health has assured us that in the event of a severe increase in the number of swine flu sufferers there are adequate stocks of Tamiflu in the UAE. Tamiflu is now a prescription drug and pharmacists have been instructed by the Ministry to only dispense the drug on presentation of a Doctor's prescription.
The Ministry of Health has also informed us that they have NOT introduced a requirement for visitors to the UAE to provide a medical report when entering the country. If a passenger appears to be suffering from flu-like symptoms they may be delayed by medical staff at the airport, who will wish to check that the passenger is not suffering from the swine flu virus. If a passenger has been diagnosed with another illness, such as seasonal flu, in the country they have travelled from carrying a medical certificate stating the diagnosed illness and medications prescribed may help speed up the procedures at the airport.
