UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon travelled to Burma today calling for the release of pro democracy leader Aung San Su Kyi and to send a united international message to Burma on human rights abuses.

Reports that British Embassy staff in Iran may face trial

Following news that remarks by Ayatollah Jannati suggest some of our local staff in Iran may face trial, Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, stressed that 'we are urgently seeking clarification from the appropriate Iranian authorities'.
